The Friends of the Waccamaw Library (FOWL) in Pawleys Island, SC, handmade a quilt that looks like bookshelves.  For a fundraiser for their children’s program they had a drawing at the annual booksale.  The owners of My Sister’s Books, Fran and Bess, at the last minute decided it would look great on the walls of their bookstore, so they bought quite a few tickets for the raffle.  When MSB won the beautiful quilt, lots of bookstore customers and Friends were delighted to see the quilt hanging where everyone could enjoy it.  Some of my friends came in to see it and asked why the quilt was not hanging.  Because the books in the quilt are life size and the quilt shelves are true to form, it blends in the bookstore.  Then at other times, new customers are charmed when they realize these shelves and books are in a handmade quilt.
